It's difficult to just let things go,
especially when you thought that's all you'd know.
The security that was once there,
has now become thoughts of what was fair.
It was his fault.
No, it was me.
It takes two to be in a relationship,
we then realize, you see.
You think it's finally done and there's no more to say,
but your mental remote still continues to hit play.
Reminding you of how the love that was rare
has now become another hurt to bear.
It's difficult to just let things go.
Making it simple is what I want to know.
